The day after receiving his BFA in Photojournalism from Rochester Institute of Technology, he moved to New York and quickly started his career as a photo editor for Bloomberg News. He honed his craft after working as an assistant and lighting director for some of the industries top photographers before going out on his own.

Emily-Jane Robinson advertised for participants for her project via the Heal's website and a classified ad, and was overwhelmed by the response. More than 60 Heal's customers and staff from London, Bristol and Kent volunteered to be photographed in their homes - some alone, some with their families and pets. The resulting portraits have been enlarged and displayed in the window of Heal's Tottenham Court Road.
